I was recently answering a question about how to become a SQL Server Administrator (DBA), and found there are several articles on the internet about this question. I have written about this subject a few times, but it is really simple. You have to want to be a SQL Server DBA, then do the hard work to become a DBA. That hard work is about getting the training and experience in this complicated position, and continuing to learn something new each day.
Sometimes you find you already have the training and you just become the DBA one morning. Usually you decide to become a DBA and you start reading books and watching Youtube videos until you decide to get some type of formal training.
Whatever path you choose, I wish you all the luck in the world.
